PremierVPN X is our dedicated VLESS + REALITY app for macOS. It provides the fastest and most censorship-resistant VPN connection available.

Requirements

  • macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel Mac
  • An active PremierVPN subscription

Step 1 — Download

  1. Log in to the PremierVPN portal
  2. Go to Downloads
  3. Download PremierVPN X for macOS

Step 2 — Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  2. Drag PremierVPN X into your Applications folder
  3. Open the app from Applications or Spotlight (⌘ + Space, type "PremierVPN")
  4. If macOS shows "PremierVPN X can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer": go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway
  5. When prompted, allow the VPN configuration — macOS will ask for your system password or Touch ID

Step 3 — Sign in

  1. Enter your portal email address and password (the same credentials you use to log in at portal.premiervpn.net)
  2. Click Sign In
  3. The app will load your server list automatically

Step 4 — Connect

  1. Select a server from the list
  2. Click Connect
  3. A VPN icon will appear in your menu bar when connected

Which server should I choose?

  • Iran users: Use standard servers (no label). Avoid China-marked or CDN servers.
  • China users: Use servers marked (China).
  • Everyone else: Choose the closest server to your location for best speed.

See Which VLESS server should I use? for detailed guidance.

Troubleshooting

  • "VPN configuration" permission: This is required for the app to create a VPN tunnel. macOS requires your password or Touch ID to authorise this. It is safe.
  • "Unidentified developer" warning: Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll down and click Open Anyway.
  • Connection drops: Check if your Mac is switching between Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Try disabling the network you are not using.
  • Slow speeds: Try a server closer to your location. Avoid CDN servers unless standard ones are blocked.
