Which VLESS server should I use? (Iran vs China)
PremierVPN offers three types of VLESS + REALITY connections, each optimised for different network environments. Choosing the right one makes a significant difference in speed and reliability.
🟢 Standard VLESS servers (recommended for Iran)
These are your default VLESS + REALITY servers — the ones without any "China" or "CDN" label in the app or client area.
They use settings specifically optimised to bypass Iranian DPI (deep packet inspection) on mobile and fixed-line networks, including Irancell, MCI, and Rightel. If you are in Iran, always try these first.
- Works on 3G, 4G, 5G, and fixed broadband
- Fastest option when it works
- Optimised for Iranian ISP filtering patterns
🔵 China-marked VLESS servers
These are labelled "(China)" in the app and client area. They use different port and protocol settings optimised for China's Great Firewall (GFW).
If you are in China, use these servers. Standard servers may not work reliably behind the GFW.
- Port 443 with XTLS flow — matches what works best against the GFW
- microsoft.com SNI for maximum compatibility
- Do not use these in Iran — they are less effective against Iranian DPI
🟡 CDN-fronted VLESS servers
These route your traffic through Cloudflare's CDN network. They are a fallback option — use them only if both standard and China servers are blocked.
- Nearly impossible to block (would require blocking all of Cloudflare)
- Slower than direct connections due to the extra hop
- Available in both the PremierVPN X app and third-party clients

Still having trouble?
If none of the above work, try our Anti-Censorship tools — StormDNS and SlipNet use DNS tunnelling which works even during complete internet shutdowns.
