Connect Using AnyConnect on Android

Cisco AnyConnect (Cisco Secure Client) is available on Android and connects to PremierVPN using the OpenConnect protocol.

Install the App

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for "Cisco Secure Client" (formerly AnyConnect).
  3. Install the app.

Add a VPN Connection

  1. Open Cisco Secure Client.
  2. Tap "Connections".
  3. Tap "Add New VPN Connection".
  4. Enter:
    • Description: PremierVPN
    • Server Address: Your chosen server, e.g. uk.premiervpn.net
  5. Tap "Done".

Connect

  1. Toggle the connection to ON.
  2. Allow the VPN connection request when Android prompts you.
  3. Enter your VPN credentials:
    • Username: Your VPN username
    • Password: Your VPN password
  4. Accept any certificate prompt on first connection.
  5. A key icon will appear in your notification bar when connected.

Disconnect

Pull down the notification shade and tap the AnyConnect notification to disconnect, or open the app and toggle off.

FAQs

Why does Android warn about VPN monitoring?

This is a standard Android system message displayed for all VPN connections. PremierVPN does not monitor your traffic.

AnyConnect keeps disconnecting. What can I do?

Go to the app's Settings and enable "Block Untrusted Servers" to OFF, and ensure battery optimisation is disabled for the app (Settings → Apps → Cisco Secure Client → Battery → Unrestricted).
