Understanding Your VPN Credentials
Last updated 14 Mar 2026 · 5 views
PremierVPN uses two separate sets of credentials. Understanding the difference is important.
Portal Credentials
These are the email and password you use to log in to the PremierVPN Client Portal (this website). You set these when you first register.
VPN Credentials
These are the username and password you enter into your VPN app (such as OpenVPN or WireGuard) to connect to PremierVPN servers. They are generated automatically when your subscription is activated.
Key Point: Your VPN username and VPN password are different from your portal email and portal password. Changing one does not affect the other.
Where to Find Your VPN Credentials
- Log in to the PremierVPN Client Portal.
- Your VPN username and password are displayed on the Dashboard under "VPN Credentials".
- Click "Show" to reveal the password.
Changing Your VPN Password
You can change your VPN password at any time from Account Settings. See the How to Change Your VPN Password article for full instructions.
Logging In to PremierVPN Apps
PremierVPN desktop and mobile apps (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux) use your portal credentials to sign in — the same email and password you use at portal.premiervpn.net.
This is different from third-party clients like OpenVPN or manual WireGuard configurations, which use the separate VPN credentials shown on your Dashboard.
Quick rule: PremierVPN app = portal login. Third-party VPN client = VPN credentials from Dashboard.
Download PremierVPN apps from the Downloads page in your portal.
