Understanding Your VPN Credentials

Last updated 03 Apr 2026 64 views 🚀 Getting Started

PremierVPN uses multiple sets of credentials depending on which app and protocol you use. Understanding the difference is important.

Portal Credentials

These are the email and password you use to log in to the PremierVPN Client Portal (portal.premiervpn.net) and to sign in to the PremierVPN X app. You set these when you first register.

Used for: Portal login, PremierVPN X (VLESS) app login.

VPN Credentials (WireGuard / OpenConnect / IKEv2)

These are the username and password you enter into the standard PremierVPN WireGuard app, or into third-party VPN clients (OpenConnect, IKEv2). They are generated automatically when your subscription is activated.

Used for: PremierVPN WireGuard app, AnyConnect/OpenConnect, IKEv2, third-party WireGuard clients.

Key Point: Your VPN username and VPN password are different from your portal email and portal password. Changing one does not affect the other.

PremierVPN X Credentials

PremierVPN X uses your portal login (email + password) — not your VPN credentials. When you sign in to the PremierVPN X app, your unique VLESS UUID is provisioned automatically. You never need to configure it manually.

Used for: PremierVPN X (macOS and Windows).

Where to Find Your Credentials

Credential Where to Find
Portal email & password You set these at registration. Reset via "Forgot password?" on the login page.
VPN username & password Dashboard → "VPN Credentials" section. Click "Show" to reveal the password.
PremierVPN X UUID Managed automatically — just sign in with your portal email and password.

Changing Your VPN Password

You can change your VPN password at any time from Account Settings. Your portal password and PremierVPN X access are unaffected.
