Connect Using AnyConnect on iOS (iPhone & iPad)

Cisco AnyConnect is available for iOS and provides a simple way to connect to PremierVPN using the OpenConnect (ocserv) protocol.

Install the App

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for "Cisco AnyConnect" (now called Cisco Secure Client).
  3. Download and install the app.

Add a VPN Connection

  1. Open Cisco Secure Client (AnyConnect).
  2. Tap "Connections" at the top.
  3. Tap "Add VPN Connection".
  4. Fill in the fields:
    • Description: PremierVPN (or any name you like)
    • Server Address: Enter your preferred server hostname, for example:
      • uk.premiervpn.net — United Kingdom
      • de.premiervpn.net — Germany
      • us.premiervpn.net — United States
      • sp.premiervpn.net — Spain
      • See the full server list in your dashboard for all available locations.
  5. Tap "Save".

Connect

  1. Toggle the AnyConnect VPN switch to ON.
  2. If prompted to allow VPN configurations, tap "Allow" and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
  3. When prompted for credentials:
    • Username: Your VPN username (shown on your dashboard under VPN Credentials)
    • Password: Your VPN password
  4. If you see a certificate warning on first connection, tap "Continue" — this is normal for the initial connection.
  5. The status will change to "Connected" and a VPN icon will appear in your status bar.

Disconnect

Toggle the AnyConnect VPN switch to OFF, or open the app and tap "Disconnect".

The app says "Untrusted Server" — is this safe?

Yes. Tap "Continue" to proceed. This appears because the SSL certificate is validated on first use. After accepting once, it will not appear again.

Which port does AnyConnect use?

PremierVPN's AnyConnect service runs on port 443 (standard HTTPS). This makes it highly effective at bypassing firewalls that block VPN ports, as it blends in with regular web traffic.

Can I use AnyConnect and WireGuard at the same time?

No. Only one VPN connection can be active at a time on iOS.
