Getting Started with Encrypted Vault
What is Encrypted Vault?
Encrypted Vault is PremierVPN's zero-knowledge file storage service. Files are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before they ever leave your device. We store only encrypted blobs — we cannot access your files, your passphrase, or your encryption keys under any circumstances.
How It Works
- Set a passphrase — when you first open the Vault, you choose a strong passphrase. This derives your encryption key using PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations. The passphrase never leaves your browser.
- Upload — when you select a file, your browser encrypts it with AES-256-GCM before uploading. The encrypted blob goes directly to our storage infrastructure. It never passes through our application servers.
- Download — when you download a file, the encrypted blob is fetched directly to your browser and decrypted locally using your passphrase.
Plans
| Plan | Storage | Max File Size | Share Links | Price |

Setting Up Your Vault
- Log in to the PremierVPN portal at portal.premiervpn.net.
- Click Vault in the left sidebar.
- If you don't have a subscription, you'll see the plans page. Choose a plan and complete the checkout.
- On your first visit, you'll be asked to set a vault passphrase. Choose something strong — at least 8 characters, ideally much longer.
- Your vault is ready. Upload your first file by clicking the Upload button.
Critical: If you forget your vault passphrase, your files cannot be recovered by anyone — including PremierVPN staff. We do not store your passphrase. Store it securely in a password manager.
