Connect Using IKEv2 on iOS (iPhone & iPad)

iOS has native IKEv2 support built in — no app installation required.

Add a VPN Connection

1. Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN.
2. Tap "Add VPN Configuration".
3. Select "IKEv2" as the type.
4. Fill in:
   • Description: PremierVPN UK
   • Server: uk.premiervpn.net
   • Remote ID: uk.premiervpn.net
   • Local ID: Leave blank
5. Under Authentication, select "Username".
6. Enter:
   • Username: Your VPN username
   • Password: Your VPN password
7. Tap "Done".

Connect

1. Go to Settings → VPN.
2. Select your PremierVPN configuration.
3. Toggle the Status switch to ON.
4. A VPN icon will appear in the status bar.

Disconnect

Toggle the VPN Status switch to OFF in Settings.

Adding Multiple Locations

You can create multiple VPN configurations for different server locations. Repeat the setup steps above with a different hostname. Then select which one to use before connecting.

FAQs

Does IKEv2 on iOS reconnect automatically?

Yes. IKEv2 supports MOBIKE, which means your VPN connection will seamlessly transfer when you switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data without dropping.

Can I enable Connect On Demand?

Yes. After creating the VPN configuration, you can enable "Connect On Demand" in the VPN settings. This will automatically connect the VPN whenever you join a network.

The Server and Remote ID — do they need to be the same?

Yes. Both must be set to the same hostname (e.g. uk.premiervpn.net).
