📡 📡 SlipNet — Anti-Censorship Tunnels
Connection Times Out or Refuses
Most likely cause: Your DNS resolvers are blocked.
Fix:
- Open SlipNet → Settings → DNS Resolver Scanner
- Run a scan to find working DNS servers
- Update your Global DNS Override with the new working resolvers
- Try connecting again
Connected but No Internet Access
Possible causes and fixes:
- Try the SSH variant: If you're using DNSTT (socks), try DNSTT (ssh) instead. The SSH backend routes traffic differently and may work when SOCKS doesn't.
- Check your DNS override: Make sure Global DNS Override is enabled and has working resolver IPs.
- Try a different protocol: Switch from DNSTT to VayDNS or NaiveProxy.
- Restart the app: Force-close SlipNet and reopen it, then try connecting again.
Connection Drops Frequently
Possible causes:
- Unstable network: DNS tunnelling is sensitive to network quality. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch to a more stable mobile data connection.
- DNS resolvers going offline: Re-run the DNS Resolver Scanner and update your resolvers.
- Try Slipstream: The QUIC protocol handles unstable connections better than DNSTT due to built-in connection migration.
Slow Speeds
DNS tunnelling is inherently slower than regular VPN protocols like WireGuard. This is the trade-off for being undetectable. To improve speed:
- Try Slipstream: It's the fastest DNS tunnel protocol due to QUIC.
- Try NaiveProxy: It runs over HTTPS at near-native speeds — significantly faster than DNS tunnelling.
- Switch servers: Try the other server location (Germany vs Finland) — one may have better latency from your location.
App Won't Install
- Make sure you've enabled Install from unknown sources in your Android settings (Settings → Security → Unknown sources)
- If the APK download is blocked, try downloading it while connected to a different network or ask someone outside the country to send you the file
"Connection URI Invalid" Error
- Make sure you copied the entire URI, including the
slipnet://prefix - Check that no extra spaces were added when copying
- Try regenerating the URI by clicking Refresh in your portal's SlipNet page
Still Not Working?
Open a support ticket at portal.premiervpn.net (click Tickets in the sidebar). Include:
- Which protocol you're trying (e.g. DNSTT socks)
- Which server (Germany or Finland)
- Your ISP and whether you're on Wi-Fi or mobile data
- The exact error message or behaviour you see
