What is SlipNet?
Overview
SlipNet is PremierVPN's anti-censorship tunnel system. It provides 6 different stealth protocols that hide your VPN traffic inside everyday internet protocols like DNS queries and HTTPS browsing. This makes your connection invisible to censorship systems used in Iran, China, Russia, and other restricted countries.
Why Do You Need SlipNet?
Standard VPN protocols like WireGuard and OpenVPN have distinct traffic patterns that government Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) systems can easily identify and block. In countries with heavy internet censorship, connecting to a regular VPN simply doesn't work.
SlipNet solves this by disguising your VPN traffic as something the censors can't block:
- DNS tunnelling — Your traffic is hidden inside DNS queries. DNS is fundamental to how the internet works — blocking it would shut down the entire country's internet.
- HTTPS proxying — Your traffic looks like normal website browsing with a real TLS certificate.
Who Can Use SlipNet?
SlipNet is included free with every PremierVPN VPN subscription. No extra cost, no add-ons required. Simply log into your portal account, navigate to SlipNet in the sidebar, and activate your connection.
