You can sign in to the PremierVPN client portal with your Google or Apple account instead of typing a password. This article explains how it works with your PremierVPN account, and the one extra step you need for the apps.
How it works
- On the sign-in page, click Continue with Google or Continue with Apple and approve the request.
- New to PremierVPN? We create your account using the email address Google or Apple shares with us. It has no password yet.
- Already have an account with that email? Google or Apple is linked to it. Your existing password keeps working, and you can use either way to sign in.
- If two-factor authentication is on, you'll still be asked for your 6-digit code.
Set a password for the PremierVPN apps
The PremierVPN apps sign in with an email and password, so if your account was created with Google or Apple, set a password once:
- Sign in to the portal with Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.
- In the sidebar, under Account, click Settings.
- In Portal Password, enter a new password twice. It needs at least 8 characters with upper and lower case letters, a number and a symbol.
- Click Set Portal Password.
Until you do, your Dashboard and Downloads page show a reminder. Then sign in to any PremierVPN app with your account email and this password.
Changing your password later
Normally you need your current password to set a new one. For 30 minutes after you sign in with Google or Apple, Settings lets you set a new portal password, and change your VPN password, without it. That's handy if you've forgotten your password: sign out, sign back in with Google or Apple, then go straight to Settings. See How to Change Your Portal Password.
Signing in with Google or Apple never changes or resets your password. Both ways keep working side by side.
Using Apple's Hide My Email
If you chose Hide My Email when signing in with Apple, your PremierVPN account email is the private address Apple created (it ends in privaterelay.appleid.com). Apple forwards our emails to your real inbox. Sign in to the apps with that private address and your portal password. You'll find the exact address in Settings › Profile.
Problems signing in
- "Google sign-in failed" or "Apple sign-in failed": start again from the sign-in page and finish within a few minutes, without using the back button. If it keeps happening, try a private browser window.
- "No email address was provided": your Google or Apple account didn't share an email with us. Sign in with your email and password instead, or create an account with your email on the sign-up page.
- "This account has been deactivated": please contact support.
Still stuck? Contact support and tell us whether you used Google or Apple.
