Folders and Organisation

Default Folders

PrMail comes with six built-in folders that cannot be deleted:

  • Inbox — incoming messages land here.
  • Sent — copies of emails you've sent.
  • Drafts — messages you've started but not sent.
  • Trash — deleted messages. These are permanently removed based on your auto-purge settings.
  • Spam — messages flagged as junk by our spam filter.
  • Archive — messages you want to keep but don't need in your inbox.

Creating Custom Folders

To create a new folder:

  1. At the bottom of the folder list in the sidebar, click + New folder.
  2. Type the folder name (letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and underscores only).
  3. Click Add.

Your custom folder appears in the sidebar immediately. You can move messages into it using the bulk actions or by creating email rules.

Deleting Custom Folders

Hover over a custom folder in the sidebar and click the × icon. You'll be asked to confirm. Messages inside the folder will be moved to Trash. System folders cannot be deleted.

Email Rules (Auto-Sorting)

You can create rules to automatically sort incoming emails into specific folders. Go to Settings → Email Rules and click + New Rule.

Each rule has:

  • Match field — what to check (From, Subject, To, or Any field).
  • Match type — how to compare (Contains, Equals, Starts with, Ends with).
  • Match value — the text to look for (e.g. newsletter@).
  • Action — what to do (Move to folder, Flag, Mark as read, Delete).

Rules can be enabled or disabled individually without deleting them.
